EP 13: stories from our intimate wedding journey

Throwing a wedding is certainly an experience of a lifetime – one that involves scenarios as wild and varying as a bouquet of flowers. Unfurling the drama behind the scenes, I am sharing a snippet of how our smaller than small, yet enormously spectacular wedding unfolded.

Jake and I wedded surrounded by 12 of our closest loved ones, which sums up an unconventional wedding event in itself. From a colorful mushroom tablescape (believe it or not) to the Airbnb afterparty drama, we had our fair share of wedding day adventures.

Our wedding was strictly film-only photography we had mushroom-decked floral arrangements which perfectly suits both Jake and I.

The day wouldn't have been complete without Jake and I sharing our written vows. The distinct style of both our vows and our music playlist made the day all the more memorable. If you're wondering, we company our vows with a varied playlist leaning toward the electronic side, and we even had an EDM number for our first dance.

No wedding goes perfectly smooth without hitting a few bumps along the road, and ours was no exception. From nail salon nervous breakdowns to Airbnb host disputes, our ride was nothing less than a roller coaster. Yet, in hindsight, the challenges we faced just made for some interesting memories and was a great lesson for Jake and I on navigating challenges head first together. Feeling connected to someone on both emotional and legal levels brings about growth, selflessness, and perspective in a way not many other experiences can.

Our wedding journey, though marked by a few hiccups, was a beautiful chapter in our life that we wouldn't trade for anything.
