EP 20: building an inspiring community with jamie findlay

Are you a passionate creative entrepreneur looking for inspiration to propel your business forward? Look no further! Dive headfirst into todays episode where we chat about photography events and what makes Evolve Workshops different. Evolve Workshops focuses in on community and unlike other events, Evolve brings together the creative industry in a way that leaves hierarchy behind, where everyone has a place at the table to share their knowledge, creating lasting friendships, inspiration everywhere and a place to truly, evolve your business.

Jamie, the founder of the Evolve Workshop community, holds an impressive resume. Besides running her own photography businesses, she’s also a mother of four. Her journey of creative entrepreneurship began in her teenage years when she discovered her love for film photography. Jamie initially ventured into the world of apparel and textile design. Establishing her own clothing company, she learned the ropes of running a business from scratch. During this period, her passion for photography flared up again as she decided to shoot her company’s editorial work herself to save costs.

Jamie’s move into full-time photography was sparked by a pivot in her career path when she realized she could get paid for shooting. After selling her clothing company, she threw herself into photography wholeheartedly. Nevertheless, her entrepreneurial spirit couldn't be curbed. Soon, she was not only shooting but also teaching others about business and marketing, leading to the creation of Evolve Workshops.

Evolve Workshops, which has now been around for about a decade, began as an outlet for Jamie to spread knowledge about creating a sustainable income from creativity. These workshops cater heavily towards editorial, wedding, fashion and recently family photography.

A primary focus of these workshops is to equip photographers with the knowledge to not only create remarkable works of art but also earn a substantial income. Jamie is passionate about helping photographers avoid giving up their passion due to financial instability.

What to Expect in Santa Barbara

The upcoming workshop in Santa Barbara promises an unrivaled experience. It will not be a typical massive conference but a more intimate gathering where attendees get a chance to interact with speakers personally. The workshop places a strong emphasis on hands-on learning. Attendees can look forward to fully stylized shoots that have an educational component rather than just walking away with pretty images. Leading photographers in the industry will guide you through these shoots, offering you practical knowledge and insights into the art and business of photography.

On the last day of the workshop, an elite access VIP day will be held. Jamie, along with other renowned business strategists in the industry, will guide attendees through the process of taking everything that they learned during the workshop, including building out a business roadmap and will create a strategic action plan for their businesses that will see them through the process of actually implementing their strategy.

Evolve Workshops offers more than just an opportunity to learn; it provides a space for creatives to connect, inspire, and grow together within an inclusive community. Don’t miss this chance to redefine your creative journey and build a sustainable, successful photography business.
