Today we are diving into the world of Destination Wedding Photography. Lilly and Vic, experienced photographers based out of Lake Como, Italy, share their insights and experiences as Destination Wedding Photographers.
From the moments captured in exotic locations around the world to their transition into education this episode explores the valuable lessons that have shaped their successful careers and how they become passionate about serving other photographers and helping them build successful careers traveling and shooting around the world.
Vic and Lilly recount their experiences capturing breathtaking moments against the stunning backdrops of exotic locales. From flying in private planes for a Wyoming photoshoot to hopping on helicopters for surprise proposals in wineries, they unveil the extraordinary side of their work and the fun parts of being a Destination Wedding Photographer. Being able to combine travel with their photography career has led to unexpected adventures, creating memories that have become an integral part of their journey.
Both, Vic and Lilly emphasized the pivotal role that education has played in their journey as photographers which is what motivated them to start their own educational platform called Lilly Red Academy. They recognized early on the need for continuous learning and improvement in their business. Motivated to make a difference in the community, they talk about how important it is to not only be a creative artist and being able to capture stunning images but also just how important it is to understand the business side of photography- an area that alot of photographers skip all together.
A strong foundation in both the creative side and business side of your business is essential for sustained success as a destination wedding photographer- or any niche of photography.
As Vic and Lilly evolved in their careers, a natural progression led them to step into the education and coaching space. This year, they dove head first into education and have been creating comprehensive courses and recently launched a workshop in lake Como. They are determined to empower the next generation of photographers with a solid foundation.
